3. Hangar for AMAC Aerospace officially opened

On 13 September 2012, the third hangar built by Texlon HSP for AMAC Aerospace Switzerland AG was officially opened. The Basel-based aviation company is thus one of the leading providers of maintenance, luxury conversion and expansion of wide-bodied and business aircrafts. The 8850 square meters of space can accommodate several large-bodied aircraft such as the Boeing B747, B777, Airbus A340 and smaller business jets of all types. It is the fourth aircraft hangar within five years that Texlon has planned and built as general contractor at the Basel airport.



The 90x95 meters large hangar, with a combined concrete and wooden structure, has a column free roof. TEXLON HSP, together with its partners, designed this complex construction especially for large area applications. The two hour fire resistant supporting structure, as well as the static approved separate roof-wall construction, provides the required security. During a fire, the roof and walls are independent supporting.



As general contractor TEXLON HSP was responsible for planning to final assembly for this prestige building and has further established itself as a leading partner for the construction of aircraft hangars.
